For the Pepperell baseball team, it’s almost go time.

Assuming, of course, that the weather cooperates.

The Dragons are preparing to host Westminster in the Class AA semifinals, with the best-of-three series slated to begin with Monday’s doubleheader in Lindale.

The first game is scheduled for 1 p.m. If a third game is necessary, it will be Tuesday.

The series will feature a pair of No. 1 seeds — Pepperell from 7-AA and Westminster from 6-AA — both of whom have rolled through the postseason to reach the Final Four.

Westminster has gone 6-0 in the playoffs, and Pepperell has posted a 6-1 mark.

The Dragons lost their postseason opener to GAC, but rallied to win that series and then swept Union County and Jeff Davis.

The Pepperell players, coaches and fans are hoping that the weather will be favorable for this series. Their opening-round series against GAC featured three postponements as the teams attempted to play Game 3.
