Football: Five Catoosa football players sign letters of intent

National Signing Day was a big day for five Catoosa County football standouts, including Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe’s Jackson Wallin, Dylan Flowers, Kyle Trego, Jok O’barr and Heritage’sJordand Liles.

Wallin (WR) will attend the University of Cumberlands. He had 25 catches for 405 yards and five touchdowns his senior year at LFO. The first-team, all-region selection also had 132 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Wallin also played in the North vs. Central All-Star game in the Georgia Dome.

Flowers (TE) will attend Carson Newman. He had seven catches for 135 yards and a touchdown. The first-team, all-region selection graded out at 88 percent as a blocker and played in the North vs. Central All-Star game in the Georgia Dome.

Trego, the first kicker to earn a scholarship from LFO, will attend Shorter. He was 9-of-11 in field goals and 23-of-26 on extra points. The first-team, all-region selection had four of his kickoffs go for touch backs and played in the North vs. Central All-Star game in the Georgia Dome.

O'barr (OL) graded out at 86 percent with 28 pancake blocks and was first team, all-region. played in the North vs. Central All-Star game in the Georgia Dome.

Liles (LB) will attend Mercer. The four-year starter earned all-region first-team honors for region 7-AAAA. He also has a 4.0 GPA.

In other Catoosa County action, Amanda Trotter signed a scholarship for Volleyball today at Heritage.The middle hitter is headed to play at Piedmont College after leading the Lady Generals to the second round of the state tournament.

Trotter will room with her best friend, Allison Vaughn of the Heritage softball team. The senior pitcher is schedule to sign a scholarship with Piedmont on Feb.7.
