The LaFayette Rambler and Lady Rambler soccer teams dropped a pair of Region 7-AAAA matches at Southeast Whitfield on Thursday night.

The Lady Ramblers fell one goal short of a second straight upset as they lost 2-1 to the Lady Raiders.

Grace McDaniel netted the lone goal for LaFayette off an assist from Shelby Narmore.

LaFayette (1-2) will face Trion today at 4:30 p.m. on the first day of the Walker County Invitational. They will take on Oglethorpe County at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The Ramblers were shut out, 9-0, by the No. 4-ranked Raiders, who outshot LaFayette, 27-4.

Trevor Logan had 12 saves and Chase Horne added 15 as they split time in goal.

LaFayette (0-3-1) will battle Red Bank (Tenn.) at 6:30 p.m. tonight before facing Cedartown at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Ridgeland's teams will also host part of the Invitational this weekend. Both squads will take on Coahulla Creek tonight. The girls' game will begin at 6 p.m. with the boys' game to follow.

On Saturday, the Panthers will square off with Red Bank, while the Lady Panthers take on Trion. Both matches will start at 2 p.m.
