GOLF: Dalton girls win fourth straight region title

The Dalton Lady Catamounts finished with a team score of 273 and won the Region 7-AAAA golf championship at Indian Trace Golf Course in Chatsworth on Tuesday.

It was the fourth straight region title for Dalton, who was led by Mable McKone's 88. Northwest Whitfield (286), Heritage (298), and Southeast Whitfield (319) rounded out the top four to qualify for sectionals.

Cedartown and Pickens tied for fifth with a score of 335, followed by LaFayette (373), River Ridge (377), and Gilmer (399).

Summer Anderson carded a 114 for the Lady Ramblers, followed by Carlie Campbell (122) and Haley Blevins (137).

Ridgeland did not participate in the tournament.

Southeast's Megan Collins took low medalist honors with a 10-over par 82.
