The LaFayette Ramblers got an early jump on the 2013 baseball season with a road game Monday night at Coahulla Creek, but the hometown Colts spoiled things for the Orange-and-Black with a 3-2 victory.

Micah Wyatt paced the offense for the Ramblers, going 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI. Josh Manning and freshman J.T. Snider also had one hit each.

Manning took the loss on the mound in his season debut.

LaFayette (0-1) will look to return the favor on Friday when the Colts come to south Walker County for a 5:30 contest. The Ramblers will go back on the road Saturday for a 12 noon first-pitch at Gordon Lee.
