For the third time this season, the Gordon Lee baseball team exploded for eight runs in a single inning.
And for the seventh time in eight games this season, the Trojans put another checkmark in the win column.
Gordon Lee (7-1) took a 2-0 lead, gave up six runs in the bottom of the second, then scored 12 times over the next four innings to claim a 14-7 non-region victory at North Murray on Thursday.
Branton Phillips got the eight-run fourth inning going with a triple, and later scored on a Daniel Brooks single. Adam Vandiver and Jake Rogers also collected RBI-hits in the frame while the Mountaineers helped out with three walks and a hit batsman.
Vandiver finished the day 4 for 5 with a pair of RBIs. Bay Wright had another double as one of his two hits. He also drove in a pair of runs. Connor Coakley was 3 for 4 with an RBI, and Tanner Sexton drove in a run with another single.
Zack Cobb got the win on the hill.
Gordon Lee will jump back into Region 6-A play with a road game at Christian Heritage on Friday before hosting Mt. Paran Christian on Monday.
