Tied at 1-1 going into the bottom of the fourth inning, the Gordon Lee Trojans erupted for 10 runs and shut down the King's Ridge Christian Tigers the rest of the way for an 11-1 Region 6-A victory in Chickamauga on Monday.
Jake Rogers and Branton Phillips had two hits each on the night, accounting for half of Gordon Lee's eight hits in the game. Daniel Brooks and Cody Wilson collected three RBIs each, Phillips knocked in two runs, and Tanner Sexton added an RBI-double in the rout.
Conard Broom continued his impressive season on the hill, allowing just four hits and striking out six in five innings of work. He gave up only a single run in the top of the third as the Trojans won their 10th consecutive game.
Gordon Lee (15-1, 8-1) will step out of region for their next three games. On Friday, they will travel south to Lindale to face Pepperell before returning home for a Saturday matinee against Red Bank (Tenn.) On Monday, Calhoun comes to Chickamauga for a highly-anticipated contest.
