The Gordon Central High track team wrapped up their 2013 season with their annual awards.

Several Warriors athletes were recognized for their achievements this past season.

The High Point Award for girls went to Haley Reynolds and for boys was DJ Prather. The same two took home the Outstanding Field Event Award.

Winner of the Outstanding Running Event Award for the girls went to Nolan Swaim. The boys award for running event was shared by Spencer Wilbanks, Austin Adcock and Cody Smith.

Samantha Turner and Samantha Rogers shared the girls Outstanding Freshmen Field Event. Noah Bingiel was the boys winner for that award.

The Outstanding Freshmen Running Event honors went to Xochitl Becerra and Macy Wilbanks for girls and to Nate Dunlap for boys.

Several were honored with the Coaches Award. For the girls, Taylor Thomas, Tichina King and Maci Mills earned recognition, and for the boys, Taurus Carson, Luis Ramirez and Israel Bracamonte were recognized.

Earning the Pete Valentino Golden Spike Award for the highest grade point average during the track season was Nina Fleming and David Beutel.

35 others were recognized with the Blue Award for an ‘A’ average during the track season, and 29 more were given the Silver Award for a ‘B’ average.

State Championship qualifiers were also recognized. For the girls, qualifiers were Haley Reynolds, Nolan Swaim and Ashley Farrell. Reynolds went on to win the state title in both the shot put and the discus.

Boys’ state qualifiers were DJ Prather, Nic Nesbitt, Alex Hernandez, Cody Smith and Tyshaun Clemmons. Logan Caudle also competed at State in the wheelchair shot put, 800 meter and 200 meter.
