The Darlington prep volleyball team took home the championship at Rockmart’s “At the Rock” tournament Saturday.

Darlington captured the title by beating Gordon Lee, 25-23, 25-20, in the championship match.

In pool play, Darlington beat Woodland 25-10, 25-18; downed Callaway 25-20, 24-26; and beat North Murray 26-24, 25-17.

The three wins sent Darlington into the ‘Gold’ bracket, where the Lady Tigers defeated Carrollton, 25-9, 25-23, to advance to the title match.

“It was fun to watch,” said Dar-lington coach Aaron Wilton. “It was like we just turned a corner.”

Reeves Trivette compiled 13 kills, eight digs and three blocks. Anna Kate Dulaney had three blocks.

Sam Harton — whom Wilton called an “emotional sparkplug” — had 13 digs.
