The Darlington baseball team didn’t let the less-than-ideal weather conditions prevent them from taking care of the task at hand on Friday afternoon.

Playing on a chilly, mostly-overcast afternoon, the Tigers downed Calvary Day, 9-8, in a battle of traditional Class A powerhouses at Darlington.

Brad Butler had two hits and scored three runs for the Tigers, who improved to 2-0 on the season.

Alec Redden added a hit and scored two runs, and Logan Rice earned the win on the mound, finishing with two strikeouts.

Miles Bearden had a double and Burton Dulaney also had a hit for Darlington, which visits Villa Rica on Monday.
