Baseball: Darlington remains undefeated in region at 7-0

Darlington 9, Mt. Paran 4
Alec Redden hit a grand slam in the Tigers’ victory over region opponent Mt. Paran. 
Redden had two hits, his other being a double, and totaled 8 RBIs.
“Alec Redden has been huge for us for four years,” said Darlington coach Kent Harrison after Friday’s game. “He’s been in those situations countless times, I can’t even count how many he’s come through for us.”
Sophomore pitcher Burton Dulaney pitched seven inngs, had six strikeouts, allowed nine hits and four runs, and contributed from the plate with two hits.
“He’s (Dulaney) kind of our go-to guy,” Harrison said. “He pounds the strike zone and tonight he was deadly with the first pitch strike which allowed him to use his great arsenal of pitches.”
David Grindstaff and Brad Butler both had two hits and scored two runs for the Tigers who are now undefeated at 7-0 in the region.
Greg Frix had one hit.
Darlington will travel to King’s Ridge on Monday.
