Coosa head coach Andie Lee

The Coosa Lady Eagles suffered a Region 7-AA loss to Murray County, 44-27, at home on Monday night for a make-up that was rescheduled from Friday due to weather conditions.

The Lady Indians seized control from the start, outscoring the Lady Eagles 19-8 in the first half.

After a third quarter that saw just three points from the Lady Eagles, the Coosa girls put some pieces together to show a strong fourth quarter and outscore the Lady Indians 16-11 in the last period.

Although the Lady Eagles narrowed the Murray County gap they could not surmount the early Murray County lead, and the Lady Indians went home with the W.

Heather Faust led the Lady Eagles with seven points, while freshman Perry Shumate followed with six points.

The Coosa Lady Eagles will host region leaders the Calhoun Lady Yellow Jackets today at 6 p.m.
