The Coosa boys didn’t let Friday night’s postponement derail their momentum.

Hosting Gordon Lee on Saturday in a non-region game, the Eagles used a 21-point effort from Isaac Bradley to register a 73-66 victory and extend their winning streak to four games.

D.J. Smith added 13 points for the Eagles (12-6).

Coosa was scheduled to have two home games this weekend, but Friday’s game against Murray County was postponed.

It has been rescheduled for Monday night at the Eagles’ Nest, with the girls playing at 6 p.m., and the boys following at 7:30 p.m.

In Saturday’s game against Gordon Lee, the key sequence for Coosa came late in the third quarter.

Clinging to a three-point lead, the Eagles put together a 7-0 run in the final 45 seconds of the quarter to extend their advantage to 10 points, and the Eagles held on from there.

For Gordon Lee, Daniel Brooks and Samuel Welsh combined for 51 of the Trojans’ 66 points. Brooks finished with 30 and Welsh added 21.

Coosa owned an 18-point lead in the second quarter before Gordon Lee rallied back to cut the deficit to three. Coosa quickly answered with another spurt that allowed the Eagles to rebuild a 10-point lead at the half.

The teams combined for 16 three-pointers in the game. Christian McFather accounted for three of Coosa’s seven 3s, and four players — Dominique Billups, Calean Carter, Tavaris Wilson and Bradley — added one each.

Welsh made five 3s for Gordon Lee, and Booke added three.
