Three Cedartown High School wrestlers advanced into the Class AAAA West Sectionals, and once made it through to the Class AAAA state championships.
 
Jordan Watkins, the defending Class AAA state champion in the 195 pound weight class, went 3-1 at the sectionals this weekend to place second and qualify for the state tournament.
 
Competing in the 195 pound division, Watkins pinned Alexander's Deon Evans by pinfall in round one before pinning Stone Mountain's Silas Stephens in the next round.
 
In the semifinals, Watkins defeated Troup's Michael Mackfield. In the championship bout, Watkins lost to Kenneth Brinson of Marist.
 
Jonas Ritter represented Cedartown in the 160 pound division and he went 2-3 to finish sixth. Spencer Barber wrestled in the 132 pound division, but lost both of his matches.
 
Watkins will compete this weekend in the Class AAAA state championships. He will wrestle at the Macon Centreplex Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
