Cedartown High School will have two wrestlers competing this weekend in the Class AAAA West Sectionals.

Wrestlers Jonas Ritter and Tyler Blalock will represent the Bulldogs at Fayette County High School.

Ritter, who placed fourth in state last year at 160 pounds, will wrestle at sectionals this season in the 170 pound weight division. Ritter is seeded eighth for sectionals and will open the tournament against Lithonia’s Christopher James, the No. 9 seed.

If Ritter wins, he would advance to face the winner of the Kyle Leinberger and Marcus Gaines match. Leinberger, of Fayette County, is the No. 16 seed and Gaines, of Cairo, is the No. 1 seed.

Cedartown’s Tyler Blalock will be participating in the 220 pound group. Blalock enters the tournament seeded No. 16. His first match will be against Crisp County’s Kaaun Daniel, the No. 1 seeded wrestler in that weight bracket.

If Blalock pulls the upset, he would advance to face the winner of the Devon Wallace and Coleman Taylor match. Wallace, of Lithonia High, is the No. 9 seed and Coleman, of Sandy Creek, is the No. 8 seed.
