The Cedartown High School track and field teams know that each meet is important. However, they also know their ultimate goal is to be clicking on all cylinders when the Region 7-AAAA meet arrives in April.
With that in mind, Bulldogs head coach Mike Worthington likes the direction the program is going.
“The main focus at this point is to get ready for region,” Worthington said. “We are working hard to get better every day. I expect us to be very competitive in region again this year.”
Last season, Cedartown had nine members place in the top four at region to advance to the state sectionals.
“I think this season is going good,” Worthington said. “We have really good kids. The only thing that has us a little behind were I would like us to be is the weather. Outside of that, we are moving in the right direction.”
Cedartown is scheduled to participate in the Pepperell relays this Saturday, before hosting a home meet on April 4.
Cedartown will compete in the Darlington relays on April 6, compete in Rockmart on April 11 and close the regular season at home on April 18.
