Cedartown High School track and field team member Arkeria Boozer had a Region 7-AAAA tournament she will never forget.
Competing for the Lady Bulldogs, Boozer won a region title in one event, placed second in two others and claim a third spot in a fourth event. She will now represent Cedartown in those four events at the Class AAAA state sectionals at Carrollton High School next weekend.
Boozer won the region title in the long jump, leaping 17 feet, 2.5 inches. Boozer, who is also a standout basketball player for the Lady Bulldogs, finished second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.44 seconds. She also came in third in the 100 meter dash, finishing in 13.22 seconds.
Boozer was also a member of the Lady Bulldogs 4x100 meter relay team, along with Sydney Blackmon, Courtney Vines and Kiersten Pace, and that team came in second with a time of 52.49 seconds.
Adrianna Pegueros won the discus region title with a throw of 105 feet, five inches. She also placed fourth in the shot put, launching it 31 feet, 4.25 inches. Keona Love came in fifth in the shot put with a throw of 30 feet, 11.25 inches.
Blackmon finished second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:03.78.
The top four finishers in each event advance to the sectionals round.
As a team the Lady Bulldogs came in fourth in the region with 72 points. Dalton won the meet with 120.33 points and River Ridge came in second with 89.
As for the Bulldogs, Nick Chubb and Jeremy Chubb had strong performances.
Nick Chubb, who has over 20 college football scholarship offers, finished second in the 100 meter dash (11.19 seconds) and third in the 200 meter dash (22.85 seconds). He also took third in the long jump, leaping 20 feet, 2.75 inches.
Jeremy Chubb claimed second place in the triple jump, jumping 43 feet, eight inches. He also came in fourth in the high jump with a jump of six feet.
The Bulldogs 4x100 meter relay team, consisting of Nick Chubb, Jeremy Chubb, Israel Battle and Darien Hargrove, came in fourth place. They had a finishing time of 44.23 seconds.
As a team, the Bulldogs finished seventh at the region meet with 40 points. Northwest Whitfield won the region title with 102 points.
