The Armuchee girls golf team obviously wasn’t ready for their season to end.

The Lady Indians earned a second-place finish — and clinched a subsequent berth in the Class AA sectionals — during Monday’s Region 7-AA tournament.

Calhoun won the 7-AA title, shooting a team score of 166, and Calhoun’s Amber Parker was the individual region champion after carding an 82.

Armuchee finished with a team total of 196.

The Lady Indians were led by Kacy Griffith shooting 92 to earn fifth place overall. Sandra Baggett shot 104, Hannah Murray shot 106 and Carson Cook shot 123.

Sierra Owens of Coosa shot a 98. For Model, Madison Sheppard shot a 110 and Sarah Sandy shot a 123. Pepperell’s Meg McCord shot a 107.

Armuchee will travel to Way-cross for sectionals May 6. Calhoun will advance directly to state.
