While many student-athletes at Cedartown High School are eyeing graduation and the end of the school year, some are gearing up for the annual spring football practices.
The Bulldogs annual spring practices will start this Thursday, and will conclude with a spring football game at Cedartown Memorial Stadium on Doc Ayers Field on Thursday, May 23 at 7 p.m.
Cedartown enters spring practice this season having went 6-4 last fall. It marked the first time Cedartown has posted back-to-back winning seasons since the 2002 and 2003 seasons.
This spring a lot of college coaches are expected to make appearances as they come to watch standout running back Nick Chubb.
Currently Chubb has over 20 major scholarship offers, including offers from Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Texas and others.
Other key returning players include Israel Battle (defensive back/wingback), Harrison Barnett (quarterback), Tyler Prewett (offensive lineman), Devontae Pace (defensive tackle), among others.
Spring practices will be held after school on the practice field below the softball field and they are open to the public.
