The basketballs have stopped bouncing for the Cedartown High School programs this winter.

Playing in the Region 7-AAAA tournament in Dalton on Monday, both the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs were defeated and saw their seasons come to an end.

During the Bulldogs game, Exzavier Pace scored a game-high 19 points for Cedartown, but it wasn't enough as the Bulldogs lost to Ridgeland, 62-47.

The Bulldogs (0-23) entered the tournament as the No. 5 seed out of sub-region 'A', while Ridgeland was the No. 4 seed from sub-region 'B'.

Jalen Smith led Ridgeland (9-15) with 18 points.

In the Lady Bulldogs contest, they lost to Heritage-Catoosa 66-44.

"We played hard until the third quarter," head coach Johna Tidwell noted.

The Lady Bulldogs came into the region tournament seeded No. 5 in sub-region 'A'. Heritage-Catoosa (19-6) came into the tournament as the No. 4 seed from sub-region 'B'.

Cedartown (2-21) trailed only 18-14 after the opening quarter, but was outscored by the Lady Generals 22-5 in the second quarter to fall behind 40-19 at halftime.

Post players Allie Gravitt and Keona Love continued their late season surge and once again led the Lady Bulldogs. Gravitt had a team-high 12 points and Love scored 10. Senior guard Morgan Gore contributed eight points for Cedartown.

Alex Belk led the Lady Generals offensive attack with 12 points.
