Prep baseball: Darlington stays undefeated in 6-A

Darlington 10, Whitefield Academy 7

The Tigers used a balanced offensive performance to post their 12th win in a row.

Drake Frix led from the plate with three hits.

Logan Rice, Brad Butler and Alec Redden all had two hits apiece.

Rice’s at-plate performance included a double and an RBI, and Butler also picked up an RBI.

David Grindstaff had one hit and three RBIs.

Jay Shadday, Miles Bearden and Burton Dulaney each had a hit and an RBI, and Breck Tillery added a hit for the Tigers (16-2, 12-0).

Shadday earned the win by pitching the last three innings in which he allowed no runs.

Rice pitched the first four innings.

Darlington, ranked No. 1 in the state power rankings, will host King’s Ridge today.
