Region 6-A is proving to be quite potent in baseball as six teams are currently ranked in the top 11 in the most recent Class A Private School and Public School Power Rankings released today by the Georgia High School Association, including the Darlington Tigers who now sit atop the private school rankings.
The Tigers, in the midst of an 11-game winning streak, boast a 13-2 record and have a 10.58 ranking according to the power poll. Region 6-A foe Mt. Paran Christian is ranked number two in the latest poll.
Showing its strength, Region 6-A has tow more teams ranked in the top 10 of the private school power rankings with Christian Heritage, ranked ninth, and Mt. Pisgah Christian, ranked 10th.
Two more teams from Region 6-A appear in the Class A Public School Power Rankings as well. Gordon Lee, which has only lost to Darlington so far this season, is ranked number three while Trion is ranked 11th. Charlton County sits atop the public school rankings.
The top 16 teams in the power rankings at the end of the season will reach the state playoffs. The GHSA chose to divide Class A into public and private school championships this season.
