The Cedartown High School baseball team will now be the No. 3 seed from Region 7-AAAA, sub-region ‘A’ during the region tournament play-in games this week.
Cedartown (14-8) will play a best-of-three series against Heritage-Catoosa (13-10), the No. 2 seed from Region 7-AAAA, sub-region ‘B’.
The Bulldogs and Generals will play Wednesday at Heritage-Catoosa at 5 p.m. Game two will be at 7:15 p.m.
If a game three is necessary, it will be held on Thursday, also at Heritage-Catoosa.
The winner of the series advances to the Class AAAA state playoffs. The state playoffs are slated to get under way on Friday, May 3.
Cedartown became the No. 3 seed after being swept by Cass last week. Cedartown had entered the final week of sub-region play as the top seed, but the Colonels won all three games to move into first place.
The Bulldogs and River Ridge tied for second in the sub-reigon, but River Ridge got the No. 2 seed based on taking the season series from Cedartown.
