Rockmart Middle School Lady Jackets head basketball coach Archie Scott knew his squad would have their hands full on Monday in their playoff opener against top seed Model Middle School. But Scott also knew that his young Lady Jackets squad would give it their all, as they had done all season.

“I am proud of the girls effort,” Scott said. “They played hard.”

The Lady Jackets, who entered the playoffs as the eighth seed, lost to an undefeated Model squad 49-10 in Chattooga.

“We had a rough season concerning wins and losses, but the girls improved drastically throughout the year,” Scott said. “I am looking forward to watching these girls throughout their high school career.”

Scott said as for the girls returning next season, they are now preparing for workouts.

“We are now ready to get our summer practice schedule put together and get to work for next year,” Scott said.

Members of the Lady Jackets team this year were Madison Davis, Jayla Delgado, Emma Evans, Robyn Jones, Makenzie Kent, Mollie Little, Emily Loveless, Emilee Maulding, Imani McCluskey, Kelsey Motes, Logan Patterson, Laney Schuyler, Allie Sproull, Cambree Stanley, and Brooklyn Thompson.
