Water heater taken, bedroom ransacked in Cedartown burglaries

Two homes were burglarized in unrelated incidents, according to police reports.

A representative of All Real Estate told police on Jan. 16 a bank-owned property on Housel Street had been burglarized. The hot water heater was taken, reports said.

The report didn’t state how long the home had been under Bank of America ownership.

In a separate incident, a Highland Avenue homeowner came home around 8:45 a.m. Jan. 16 to find the home burglarized.

Reports state the owner returned home and saw lights on. The owner then found the rear doorframe broken. The bedroom was ransacked, reports state.

Items taken in the theft include jewelry and electronics.

Filming in Emerson on Monday closes section of roadway

A section of a four-lane highway in Bartow County has become so popular with motion picture executives that Todd Heath, the assistant city manager in Emerson, said the city is considering adding a plaque to City Hall listing all the filming that has been done there.
