Covenant Christian School will be holding a Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 321 E. Queen St., Cedartown. Games, bounce houses, a petting zoo, food, cakes, a silent auction for class themed baskets and more will be featured at the annual festival.

The Jefferson Southern Corporation 5K Zombie Dash Fun Run is coming to Rockmart on Oct. 29, 2016 from 9 to 11 a.m. The run, being held on the company property at 1000 Marquette Road, will feature a 1K run walk to start at 9 a.m., and the 5K run to start at 9:30 a.m. Participants will receive a shirt for those who register by Oct. 19. Race packet begins at 8 a.m. on race day. Costume contest, awards for top finishers, and more are part of the event.

100 percent of the money raised through the run goes to Murphy Harpst Childrens Center in Cedartown. Visit facebook.com/jeffersonsoutherncorp/events for more information.

Registration is $20 per person, $10 for children under 10 for the 5K, $10 per entry ($5 for children under 10) for the 1K event.

The Polk County Historical Society is set to gather on Oct. 25, 2016 at 7 p.m. for their monthly meeting. Visit Polkhist.com for more information. The public is invited to attend.

New Harmony Baptist Church in Cedartown will be hosting their Judgment House this year titled “Changed” on Oct. 26, 27 and 28 at the church at 951 Prior Station Road, Cedartown. Doors open at 6 p.m. nightly, and ends at 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 and 27, and 10 p.m. on Oct. 28. For reservations call 706-676-3855.

Rockmart American Legion Post 12 has announced the following:

New members (Legion and Auxiliary) are invited to attend the regular meeting and dinner at 7 p.m. each second Tuesday.

The public is invited to all you can eat spaghetti dinner from 5:30 to 8 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month. The Legion Riders gather for a meeting and dinner at 7 p.m. each fourth Tuesday.

The annual Halloween costume party begins at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28.

Family day will be held on Nov. 12 and the annual Legion Riders steak dinner is scheduled on December 10 with a New Year’s Eve Party scheduled on December 31. The public is invited and tickets are available at Post 12.

The Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors plans to meet from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016 at One Door Polk, 424 N. Main St. in Cedartown.

Bellview Baptist Church, located at 2333 N. Bellview Road, Rockmart, will host a fifth Sunday night singing at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30. Gospel group "Fireproof" will be performing in the event for all.

Celebrate Recovery continues to meet in the First Baptist Church of Rockmart, 311 E. Elm St., Monday nights with dinner at 6 p.m. A large group gathers at 7 p.m. and small share group at 8:00 p.m.

McCord’s Crossroads Homemakers Club will host "Hopewell Celebrates 100 Years", Saturday, November 12 at 10 AM CST/ 11 AM EST, 7290 Co Rd 16, Centre, Ala., 35960.

The event includes a ribbon-cutting ceremony of the newly restored Hopewell Community Center at McCord’s Crossroads, homecoming service, special music, open house and old-fashioned “dinner on the ground” which is free to everyone in attendance. The 2016 Fiddlin’ Fest Between the Rivers is a bluegrass street festival in Downtown Rome. It will feature classical sounds of bluegrass music from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016.

Alzheimer's Association Caregiver Support Group in Polk meets the first Monday of each month at First Baptist Church of Rockmart, 311 E. Elm Street. The facilitator is April Williams. For more information about this group, call April Williams at 770-546-5188.

The Sit N' Stitch craft group meets each Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Rockmart First United Methodist Church, 135 West Church Street, Rockmart GA 30153.

All crafters are welcome to come and work on your own projects or help out with various local mission projects, as they become needed. Bring a sack lunch or just come when you want and leave as you need to.

Alzheimer's Association Legal & Financial Planning Program will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Cartersville.

Caledonia Masonic Lodge at 932 North Main Street will be holding a Halloween Trunk or Treat from 5 to 8 p.m. October 31, 2016.

This will be the first time the lodge has ever hosted this kind of event.

The 2016 State of Community Address will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 25, 2016 at The Oakwood Room, 316 Main St., Cedartown.

Downtown Cedartown Trick or Treat will be held from 3 to 5:30 p.m. October 31, 2016. The costume contest will begin at 5:30 p.m. in front of Courthouse No. 2. The pet costume contest will follow immediately after.

Cedartown’s vegetable market in Peek Park is open from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and Friday or until the vegetables are sold out.

Coosa Valely Regional Services is holding their monthly board meeting on Oct. 20, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the main office in Rome, located at 3 Riverside Industrial Parkway NE. The public is invited to attend.

Polk / Haralson Christian Life Center (Camp Antioch) continues fall schedule of events for adults and children. If you would like to make a reservation for your group to use the camp, email cutlog@bellsouth.net.

Soup and “Savior”, a local non-profit organization, meets from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays to provide needed items to deserving people. This includes a free meal (soup), clothing and gives other assistance. Meetings are held at Glad Tidings, located at 703 Robert L Parks Blvd in Cedartown. Donations are accepted.

“Revival Fire” is the title of a presentation by Charles G. Garrett, which is featured on Charter Channel 181 at 9 p.m. every Sunday night. He said this is his 17th year in Polk County.
