Mrs. Carole Shaw Jennings, age 72, of Cedartown, passed away on Friday evening, July 28, 2017 following an extended illness.
She was born on September 28, 1944 in Rome, the daughter of the late Harland Shaw and the late Jeanette Lindsey Shaw. Mrs. Jennings was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Lee Jennings on June 7, 2010.
Mrs. Jennings is survived by her daughters, Angie Jennings and Richard Davis and Kelly Jennings Davis and Eric Davis; her son, Jason Jennings; her brother, Wayne Shaw and Elaine; her grandchildren, Ethan Davis, Seth Davis, Dustan Short, Leann Short and Nathan Jennings and five great grandchildren.
A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The memorial and interment service for Mrs. Carole Shaw Jennings and Jimmie Lee Jennings was conducted on Monday afternoon, July 31, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Polk Memory Gardens with Rev. Jimmy Russell officiating.
The family received friends immediately following the service.

Mrs. Ann Carpenter Dean, age 76 of Rockmart passed away Thursday morning, July 27, 2017.
Mrs. Dean was born Oct. 27, 1940 in Polk County, daughter of the late Walton Carpenter and the late Sarah Smith Carpenter.
She was a graduate of the Rockmart High School Class of 1958 and a member of the Piedmont Ave. Baptist Church. In 1975 she and her husband, Nathan, purchased an insurance agency and for over 30 years were co-owners of Nathan Dean Insurance Agency.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Senator Nathan D. Dean on June 8, 2013.
Survivors included two sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Durand Dean of Rockmart and Scot and Keri Dean of Cedartown; three beloved grandchildren, Steven, Ana Scott and Mason; one sister and numerous cousins.
Funeral graveside and interment services for Mrs. Dean were held on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 3 p.m. in the family lot of Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. John Hooper officiating. A eulogy was given by Mrs. Durand Dean.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Steven Dean, Phil Tilley, Charles Baldwin, Curtis Owen, Roy Woods and Mickey Spinks.
Memorial donations be made to the American Legion Brown-Wright Post 12 Flag Fund, P. O. Box 229, Rockmart, Ga., 30153 in memory of Mrs. Dean.

Mrs. Joann Turner Wigley, age 81, of Rockmart, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017.
She was born in Blairsville on Feb. 2, 1936, a daughter of the late Carlos C. Turner and the late Florida Nix Turner.
Mrs. Wigley lived the greater part of her life in Rockmart where she was a graduate of Rockmart High School and a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church.
She spent her working career at Goodyear Mill where she retired after seventeen years of service.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers: Johnny Gerald Turner, James Leon Turner and Billy Turner.
Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Rev. Paul Wigley, Rockmart, to whom she was married on March 16, 1956; two daughters: Jeannie Thomasson and her husband Phil, Rockmart and Jan Smith, Rockmart; five grandchildren: Maggie Warren, Caden Smith, Bria Rose Smith, Heath Watkins and Brion Watkins; seven great grandchildren; two sisters: Wanda Kelley, Cedartown and Loryane Morris, Villa Rica; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 28, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home with Rev. John Hooper officiating.
Interment followed in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers included: Phil Thomasson, Caden Smith, Heath Watkins, John Watkins, Gage Warren and Beau Warren.

Mr. John Irvin Beaver, Jr., age 70, of Cedartown, passed away on Wednesday evening, July 26, 2017.
Mr. Beaver was born on Nov. 16, 1946 in Indianapolis, Ind., the son of the late Mr. John Irvin Beaver Sr. and the late Mrs. Bessie Fry Beaver.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Linda Lou Thomas Beaver, in December 2016.
He was a United States Veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam.
He is survived by his sons, Charles Beaver, Matt Beaver and John Thomas Beaver; his daughter, Lori Beaver Bumfield; his brother, Bob Beaver; his sister, Terry Beaver and seven grandchildren. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Beaver was cremated and no formal services are planned at this time.

Mrs. Donna Rebecca Barber, age 69 of Cedartown, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017.
She was born on Feb. 26, 1948, the daughter of the late James and Madelyn Owens.
Mrs. Barber is survived by her husband, of 50 years, Ray Barber, son; Brad and Leslie Barber, daughter; Lori and Wes Hurley. Grandchildren included Rebecca and Adam Flowers, Sabrina Dawson, Skylar Dawson, Shelton Dawson, Kelly and Hunter Marchbanks, Wes Hurley Jr. and Brooke; Great grandchildren: Hazel - Blair Andrews, and Lydia Claire Hurley ,and her father-in-law, Raymond C. Barber Sr.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Vicky Angelos and her mother-in-law, Margaret Barber.
Mrs. Barber was a member of Victory Baptist Church and was active in the Adult Choir. She was employed by Polk Medical Center for 25-plus years.
The service for Mrs. Donna Barber was conducted on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Snapp officiating.
Interment followed at Polk Memory Gardens.

Mr. James H. Couch, age 83, of Rockmart, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 at his residence.
He was born on March 15, 1934 a son of the late Carl Couch and Bernice Ottwell Couch.
Mr. Couch had been a resident of Rockmart since 2000 moving here from Lithia Springs. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea.
Mr. Couch was a truck driver having worked for Bowman Trucking, Brown Trucking and the City of Atlanta Public Works Department. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Lorene Couch in 2016, by a daughter, Shirley Mahan in 2016; by sons, Fred Baliles in 2007 and Jimmy Couch in 2013 and by a grandson, Nathan Baliles in 2017.
Survivors include a son, Daniel Baliles, Houston, Texas; son in law, Phil Mahan, Rockmart; two granddaughters: Tammy Garrett (Tim), Rockmart and Tonya Mahan (Mark Jones), Rockmart; two great grandsons: Griffin Garrett and Brady Garrett both of Rockmart.
Graveside committal services were held Wednesday, July 26, 2107 at 11 a.m. in Mozley Memorial Gardens, Lithia Springs.

Mr. Jacob Maxwell, age 21 of Piedmont, Ala., passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017.
He was born on May 30, 1996 in Rome, the son of Chuck and Tina Maxwell.
Mr. Maxwell is survived by his parents, daughter; Amaya Maxwell, brother; Timothy Maxwell, his grandparents; Paul and Wynette White and Barbara Maxwell.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Gene Maxwell, Aunts; Lisa White and Donna Hogue, uncles; Tony Maxwell and Ricky Maxwell, and a cousin; Tyler Williams.

Mrs. Bobbie Frances Thomas, age 78, of Rockmart (the Yorkville community) passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Paulding County on April 9, 1939 a daughter of the late Claude Allen Lemon and Euther Alexander Lemon.
Mrs. Thomas had lived in the Polk and Paulding County area for many years.
She had also lived in Virginia, Mexico, Mississippi and Tennessee with her family as her husband served as a Pastor and Missionary for many years.
She was a devoted pastor's wife, mother and grandmother. She taught Sunday school and on many occasions served as a speaker at women's conferences.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James Richard Thomas and a brother, Jerry Allen Lemon.
Survivors include a son, Barry Thomas and wife Lori, Barnesville; daughter, Beverly Thomas Battles and husband John, Rockmart; two sisters: Carolyn Hutcheson, Rockmart and Annette Gamel, Concord, N.C. Eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Trey Jones and Rev. Bob Lee officiating.
Interment followed in Polk Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Valerie Joyce (Jerzak) Everette, age 75 of Kaysville, Utah formerly of Rockmart, Georgia passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017.
Mrs. Everette was born November 10, 1941 in Hinsdale, Illinois, as the only child of Victor and Helen (Shewchuk) Jerzak. She spent her childhood in Illinois where she graduated from Proviso East High School. She went on to attend Northern
Illinois University and Berry College in Rome, Georgia. She married Michael K. Singleton in June of 1962 in Winfield, Illinois and later divorced. In January of 1974, she married Deryl C. Everette, Sr. of Rockmart.
She was an active member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a passion for family history. She valued the time she spent with her family and friends and was always willing to lend an ear to listen. Her compassion was one of her greatest traits both as a mother and a wife.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Deryl C. Everett, Sr. on October 21, 1993.
Survivors included her sons, Geoff (Bennie) Singleton, Clifford (Elaniea) Singleton, Chris (Joan) Singleton and Deryl (Patty) Everette, Jr.; daughters, Vanessa (Chris) Coats, Cheryl Ruebel and Heather (Ryan) Cracroft; 24 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Everette were held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Don Garmon officiating. Interment services followed in the family lot of Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by her wife, Destiney Allmon Thomas; father and step-mother, Stacy and Amanda Jo Thomas; brothers, Tristan Thomas, Jeremy Eason and wife Hope, and Jordan Eason; sisters, Amber Duggan and husband Byron and Stacee Thomas; grandparents, Margaret Thomas and Gloria Gulley; nephews, Graysen Duggan and Brysen Duggan and cousins, Morgan, Kendall, Kamryn and Trent Thomas.
Mrs. Thomas is preceded in death by her grandfathers, William Thomas and Ordie Gulley.

Mr. Robert Laverell Mann, age 53, of Cedartown, passed away Saturday evening, July 22, 2017.
Mr. Mann was born April 12, 1964 in Talladega, Ala., the son of Laverell Mann and Sandra Nabors McClellan Mann.
He was a veteran and served in the United States Army as a Medic for 15 years. He was employed at Floyd Medical Center for Air Mark.
Surviving are his mother, Sandra McClellan, father, Laverell Mann, three brothers, Richard Dale Mann, Aaron Kyle Mann and Sam Forrister; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
In keeping with his wishes his Mr. Mann will be cremated and a memorial service and interment service will be announced at a later date and time.

Ms. Daphne Marie Parish Coley, age 39, of Centre, Ala., passed away Friday, July 21, 2017.
Ms. Coley was born in Rome, on May 25, 1978.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Parish.
Survivors include one daughter, Taylor Coley of Centre, Ala.; one son, Tyler Coley of Centre, Ala.; two sisters, Tammy Davis of Gadsden, Ala., and Valerie Miler of Rome; mother, Deborah Stringfield Parish of Centre, Ala.; grandmother, Violet Eads of Centre, Ala.; and a number of other relatives.
The family conducted a memorial service Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017 at 3 p.m. at 214 Doe Valley Road, Tallapoosa, 30176.
Cremation services are provided by Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel and Crematory of Buchanan.
