Mrs. Wilma Sue Marble Perry, age 83 of Cedartown, passed away on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017.
She was born on March 10, 1934 in Gadsden, Ala., the daughter of the late William and Dorothy Nickleson Marble.
Sue loved her family and also her community. She served her community for many years working as a nurse in local Alabama hospitals both at Gadsden and East Gadsden Clinic as a staff nurse.
In Georgia, she worked at both McCall Hospital and Floyd Hospital as a surgical technician and as a staff nurse at The Georgia School for the Deaf. She loved caring for all people, but especially for children.
Mrs. Perry and husband Jim were married for 54 years. She cherished her time with her Christian friends at the churches she attended and is now for sure enjoying her time with Jesus in Heaven.
Mrs. Perry is survived by her loving husband, James “Jim” Perry; sister, Jo Anne Marble Locke; brother, Leslie Lee (Wesley) Marble; and grandchildren, James William Scott Perry and Emmalyne “Emme” Rose Perry.
Mrs. Perry is preceded in death by her parents; son, James Joel “Scott” Perry; brothers, William Marble, James Allen Marble, Larry Wayne Marble and nephew, Steven W. Marble.
The arrangements for Mrs. Wilma Sue Marble Perry include a visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. with a funeral service starting at 6:00 on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, after press time, at the Cave Spring United Methodist Church in Cave Spring.
A second visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Winfield, Ala., from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Central time, with a funeral service starting to follow.
Her interment will follow later in the week in Crestwood Cemetery in Gadsden, Alabama.

Mrs. Eloise Lewis Smith, age 90, of Plainville and formerly of Cedartown, passed away Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017 at her residence.
She was born in Dawsonville on Feb. 23, 1927, a daughter of the late Walter Lewis and Minnie Voyles Lewis.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Smith “Preacher”; daughter, Geraldine Smith Arencibia “Dean”; daughter-in-law, Ann Smith; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include three children: Ralph Smith, Sr. (Cheryl), Charlene Kuhlman (Eddie) and Billy Smith; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sisters: Beatrice Egnot and Betty Ruth Boyd; brothers: Hubert and Buford Lewis; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Smith and Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Redding officiating.
Interment followed in Northview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ralph Smith Jr., Bill Kuhlman, Freddy Arencibia Jr., Randy Prewett, Dewayne Matney and Jason Cox. Honorary pallbearers included Tyler Prewett, Freddy Arencibia, Sr. and Corey Peck.
The family received friends Friday evening, Aug. 18, 2017, at the funeral home.

Mr. Jonathan Daniel Farmer Sr., age 36 of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017.
He was born on June 28, 1981 in Rome.
Mr. Farmer is survived by his mother, Thelma (Diane) Allen Farmer Grimes; step-father, Dennis; sons, Jonathan D. Farmer, Jr. and Hunter L. Farmer; step-daughter, Kristen Thomas; brothers, Michael Farmer (Kimberly), Brian Farmer and Joe Farmer; nieces, Haleigh, Ansley and Makayln and best friend (angel), Candace Adams Norrell.
Mr. Farmer is preceded in death by his father, Ronnie Joe Farmer; aunt, Melinda Sanchez; and grandparents, Tommy and Jean Allen and Lucille Hitchcock.
The funeral arrangements for Mr. Jonathan Daniel Farmer will be conducted on Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Frankie Holtzclaw officiating. Interment followed in the Greenwood Cemetery.
