A woman who was spotted by an officer driving in a car in Aragon was arrested after a chase in Cedartown without inci-dent this afternoon.
Police in Aragon first attempted to stop 51-year-old Glenda Bennett Nichols when she was spotted in eastern Polk County around 2 p.m., but refused to pull over for an officer who sought to take her into custody on an aggravated assault warrant in Bartow County.
Cedartown Police Chief Jamie Newsome said his officers became involved when the case approached and entered city limits after crossing the county, and that officers were able to box her in around the Highland Avenue area.
"We found her again on East Gibson Street and officers were able to take her into custody without further incident," Newsome said.
Additionally, he said no wrecks were caused by the chase, and no injuries have been reported.
Nichols was later charged with driving while license suspended or revoked, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving and speeding in excess of maximum limits.
