The weather remains mild for one last day in early December here in Polk County as the National Weather Service calls for wet weather to stick around through the day and late into tonight, and then a drop in the thermometer right behind it. 

Today's forecast calls for a chance of showers, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 11 a.m. Patchy fog before 11 a.m. High near 67. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Tonight: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 11 p.m., then a chance of showers. Low around 38. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
