Replace the puffy jackets and long-sleeve shirts of winter by heading to Cedartown’s Our House Thrift Store is looking to help locals cool off with this year’s selection of spring and summer clothes.
The store at 504 S. Main St. is open from 10 a.m. through 4 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and customers can stop by from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. on Saturday.
“The prices will be lower for spring and summer clothes,” manager Martha Mumtean said. “Tuesdays are half off clothes, and we’ll have all the clothes out by then.”
Whether it be shorts, dresses, or shirts, patrons can pick up their seasonal wardrobe beginning March 6 when the store has readjusted. Not only will prices be lower, but the store is running a daily sale of five t-shirts for $1. The thrift store also offers weekday sales on various items. Monday sales include items such as shoes, scarves, and ties. Tuesday bargains include clothes, luggage, exercise equipment, and bikes. The Thursday sale promises cheap linen, baby furniture, and baby accessories. The Friday sales feature discounted furniture and housewares. Saturday sees the store offer discounted clothes, shoes, and handbags.
“Expect pop sales,” Mumtean said. “Every now and then I’ll get up and decide to have a sale.”
Each sale at the Our House Thrift Store directly supports the Our House Domestic Violence Shelter. Those wishing to offer help outside of buying may consider donating clothing, toys, furniture, or other items.
“Anyone wanting to make a donation just has to drive up to the back door between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.,” Mumtean said. “We give tax forms to them. They can donate anything. What we need right now is furniture because of the women’s shelter. We need furniture, household goods, and good, clean shoes — especially for children.”
