Students at Eastside Elementary got a special treat as State Rep. Trey Kelley stopped by the the Rockmart school to read to local students in celebration of a special birthday.

It was part of Polk School District's annual celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday, who was born last Friday, March 2, in 1904 in Springfield, Mass. He died in California in 1991. Dr. Seuss would have been 114 years old this year.

After reading "And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street," Kelley took questions about his job at the state Capitol building, his life, favorite things and even gave the kids a chance to compare their height to the their State Representative, who is more than six feet tall.

Students also got a Green Eggs and Ham lunch on the elementary level to celebrate Dr. Seuss.
