Rockmart's Chick-fil-A set to open in September underwent a slight setback after Thursday afternoon's thunderstorm blew through Polk County, and construction workers will have to start again on framing on the new restaurant.
Owner Zach Thomas said that damage was minimal on the site, but new wood framing that was put up this week was blown down during the Thursday afternoon storm.
He said that construction should only be setback no more than a day due to the damage.
Ground was broken officially for construction on the new restaurant on May 3, and has been ongoing ever since.
Thomas, the owner of the new store, announced plans earlier in the year to bring Chick-fil-A to Rockmart.
