Polk County officials are expected to have a busy Thursday afternoon as committees are scheduled to hold several meetings, according to releases from County Manager Matt Denton.
Denton reported that the first meeting is being held at 2 p.m. at the Administration offices of Polk County at 144 West Ave., Cedartown, for the purposes of holding a dangerous dog hearing.
"We've had a dog to attack another dog, so we have a requirement to have a dangerous dog committee," Denton said.
Denton said the Animal Control Committee will hear information during the public portion of the meeting, but will deliberate in a closed session and then render a decision.
Following that at 5 p.m., the Finance committee will be held for a personnel request for step increases for an internal promotion. It's being held at the Board of Commissioners meeting room at the Polk County Police Department at 73 Cline Ingram Jackson Road, Cedartown.
Commissioners will cap off the night in a work session to discuss the Polk County Fire Department plan at 6 p.m. in the board meeting room at the Polk County Police Department.
All three of the meetings are open to the public and officials invite anyone with interest to attend.
