The Polk County Board of Education is seeking local residents to come out once again and take part in a public comment session to allow everyone who wishes to have their say in the search for a new superintendent for the Polk School District.

Those who wish to make comments can sign up before the 6 p.m. meeting being held at the Polk County College and Career Academy campus at Cedartown High School. Public comments are also being taken via email at for those who don't wish to speak before an audience.

The board heard the first round of public comments from local residents during their opening session at the Rockmart campus of Georgia Northwestern Technical College last week on June 20.

All those wishing to take part will have five minutes of time to speak to the board, and the order in which people sign up will be the order they address the board.

Comments are being video recorded to be shared with consultant James Wilson with Educational Planners, who s helping the Board of Education with the search for the new superintendent.

He reported last week that around two dozen emails had been received so far along with comments from four individuals during the Rockmart session last week.

Wilson is also handling the application process, interim Superintendent Greg Teems said previously.
