The good news? Rockmart and Cedartown both have official opponents for their home playoff games this week.

After the Bulldogs finished off their regular season and clinched their second seed spot in the Class 4A playoffs, they faced waiting for a mini-game to play out on Monday to see who they would face in the third and fourth spots, after a three-way tie developed in Region 6-4A between Southeast Whitfield, Northwest Whitfield and Pickens County.

The Bulldogs will host Northwest Whitfield on Friday after they clinched the third place spot with wins over Pickens and Southeast in the mini-games on Monday at North Murray High School. The Bruins defeated 7-6, and Pickens eliminated Southeast Whitfield 7-0.

Pickens ends up having to play top ranked Cartersville on the road for their opening playoff game.

The Rockmart Yellow Jackets also have their opponent figured out. Monticello made the fourth seed spot after finishing the regular season 2-8 in Region 8-AA, ending the regular season with a 52-7 loss to Rabun County.

Monticello won out in a three-way tie for fourth place in the region between Social Circle and Putnam County.

Cedartown is hosting Northwest Whitfield on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. Information so far has Rockmart also hosting on Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
