The Home Depot

The Home Depot in Cedartown is looking to help people who are looking to create do-it-yourself projects, but have a hard time working with power tools.

Bonnie Winstead, who is the supervisor over the hardware department, said a free demonstration is being held on Saturday, July 5 from 10 to 11 a.m. to go over with those interested in DIY projects how to use the power tools they see used in projects on television shows and the internet.

“We get a lot of ladies coming in interested in using power tools,” she said. “They see all these cool projects on Pinterest but are intimidated by the tools.”

She said the demonstration will also allow those who participate to not only get hands on experience with the tools, but also to build a small step stool in the process.

Winstead said women who come into Home Depot looking for help aren’t the only ones who find themselves scared of power tools.

“There are a lot of men out there with the same problem,” she said.

The demonstration will also feature light refreshments. Those interested in participating only need to show up the day of, but those who want more information can call Home Depot at 678-246-0107.
