The First 100 contest for Chick-fil-A's newest location in Rockmart is already underway, and the parking lot was nearly full by mid-morning with people getting in line to take part in Thursday morning's opening contest.
Those who are waiting in line for the opening are seeking the chance to get Chick-fil-A every day for a year. Tents were already setup in the parking lot by around 10 a.m. ahead of the 6 a.m. start of business tomorrow.
Store owner Zach Thomas said the restaurant will be ready to serve those customers and more on opening day.
"We're all really excited about the opening, it's just finally here," Thomas said. "We have 27 trainers from across the country, two from as far as Idaho and some from as close as Cartersville. For the most part they'll be running the restaurant for the next week, and then hand it off to my people as they train."
Thomas, who previously owned a store in the metro Atlanta area, said he's glad to be opening the store "back home."
"It's a platform we have with Chick-fil-A to help make a difference in the community," Thomas said. "That's our biggest goal of all."
