The past few weeks have been busy for the Polk County Chamber of Commerce, as events with current members, future leaders and new members all took place before the end of March.

Chamber members on March 24 gathered first to celebrate local youth who could one day be the future leaders in a variety of fields.

The annual Polk Youth Leadership Graduation breakfast celebrated a total of 20 sophomores from Rockmart and Cedartown High School that were selected to be a part of the program.

Courtney Harkness, a Rockmart High graduate and one of the first youth leader graduates in 1992, spoke to students during the breakfast.

The Chamber also hosted a networking event in Cedartown in March. Guests dined at Pizza Hut while networking on delicious appetizers courtesy of the wonderful staff and store manager Tina Mathis.

The highlight of the night was the “Speed Networking” event. Chamber members had the chance to meet everyone and exchange contacts.

Todd Hooper with Shaw Hankins won the three minute commercial to talk about his business. Overall it was a night of fun and networking.

The Chamber also recently held a Ribbon Cutting for one of their newest members Kover Up’s by “K” at the Chamber office in Rockmart.

Owner Kierston Monroe set up a display with her beautiful table linens and chair covers, and cut the ribbon cele-brating her business on the chamber steps.
