The Cedartown Optimist Club has a new president for the year.

Cedartown’s Juana Cervantes was appointed into the leadership role of the club through September 2018 during their latest meeting last week to end the month.

On hand for the event was the Lieutenant Governor for the organization in Georgia, Scott Moody.

Cervantes, owner of Perfect Fit Alterations on South Main Street in Cedartown, will serve until September 2018.

The Cedartown Optimist Club is a civic organization that meets at the Goodyear Civic Center for breakfast. The non-profit raises money annually to help the youth of Polk County.
