Cedartown’s cross country team is improving on their times each week, and had one running finish in the Top 10 during a recent race at Foxhall Farms in Douglass County.

Two of the boys runners brought home top 20 medals and one girl.

Elijah Pace ran a 17:26 placing him in fourth place, and Emmanuel Cornejo ran an 18:48 placing 16th place spot.

Melissa Duncan ran a strong race for the girls, running 22:14 placing 15th.

“Several runners had a new personal record after today’s meet,” said head coach Kristen Little. “We are looking forward to our region meet on Oct. 26.”

Last weekend’s race was an improvement over their previous meet at the Wingfoot Classic in Cartersville.

First for the Cedartown boys team was Jason Blankenship running an 18:05 placing 48th out of 296 racers.

For the girls team in past weeks, Holly Duncan ran a personal record of 23:17, placing her 78th out of 264.

“I see state in some of their future, if they continue to work hard,” Little said.
