The Cedartown Competition Cheer squad is hoping local residents will come out for a meal and help support their team's efforts to celebrate another big year for the Lady Bulldogs.
Huddle House at 115 East Ave, Cedartown is hosting a fundraising event for the state runners-up cheer squad from 5 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 4.
Donations made to the Competition Cheerleaders will go toward supplies for their upcoming banquet to celebrate the 2017 season, where they once again won a region championship and were the state runner-up in the state's Class 4A championship this year in Columbus.
20 percent of the night's sales at Huddle House will go to the team said head coach Brigitte Tillery, who said the restaurant was going to great effort to help her team.
"They reached out to me," Tillery said. "We're at banquet time here at the end of the year where we're purchasing awards and gifts for our girls, so this helps out."
Her hopes are that in an effort to attract more customers, her squad and Cedartown High School Bulldog mascot Mac will drum up business from local fans outside the restaurant during the December event. That will mainly depend on if the weather cooperates, Tillery said.
She added that "I really hope everyone will come out and join us for a great night at Huddle House."
Tillery said those interested in making individual donations to the team can contact Cedartown High School at 770-748-0490 or e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
