Cedartown High School will be celebrating their homecoming on Sept. 19 when they host Heard County, but a day of events are planned for students and fans alike.
The main event will take place on the football field at halftime when the homecoming king and queen are crowned, but students will be celebrating all day starting with a 9:30 a.m. pep rally at the school.
Following that later in the afternoon, the annual homecoming parade will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Main Street. Community league football teams, cheerleaders, and other community entries are encouraged to participate.
The homecoming football game will follow at Cedartown Memorial Stadium with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. Halftime events will include the presentation of class representatives and the crowning of the homecoming queen.
This year’s court includes the following:
Freshmen - Katrina Harris, Holly Hampton, Chloe Lee and Hannah Marchbanks.
Sophomores - Payton McElwee, Skylar Rogers, Ava Tillmann and Kailyn Watters.
Juniors - Ansley Baker, Areli Cervantes, Bren Lewis and Callie McDonald.
Seniors - Sydney Blackmon, Payton Cox, Neidra Chubb, Jessi McElwee, Shameiraka Neal and Kaylyn Shelton.
Anyone interested in entering a float in the 2014 Cedartown Homecoming parade needs to pick up an entry form from the main office at Cedartown High.
Entry forms need to be turned into the main office at the high school by Tuesday, September 16, or participants will not be eligible to be in the parade.
Line up for the parade will begin at 4 p.m. on Sept. 19.
