Polk’s local DCS office is giving locals a chance to donate to a good cause.

An ongoing event, citizens are urged to buy or drop off a book for youth ages 1 month through 18 years at least once until the drive ends on Dec. 4.

Books can be delivered to 100 County Loop Rd. Ste. A where DCS officers will, in turn, distribute the books to local families in need.

The organization is asking that books be age appropriate and suitable for minors.

Considering the wide range of ages receiving books, patrons can donate nearly any story and rest assured it will be delivered to the most appropriately aged child.

The book drive officially began Nov. 6 and DCS has been hard at work ever since, but time is ticking.

Those interested in helping increase childhood literacy should consider stopping by the office or calling 770 749-2238 for additional information.
