Education news

The Polk County Board of Education is in session tonight at 6 p.m., and they've got several items on their list to accomplish including honoring Teachers of the Year and discussion and decision over how to handle items being put up as surplus for the public to purchase.

The agenda posted online at the Board of Education's website includes the Teacher of the Year presentation as their top item. They'll also be discussing whether the school district should use GovDeals as their option for selling off surplus items, and approving several field trip requests on the night.

Board members will be gathering at the Central Office at 612 S. College St., Cedartown for the meeting.
