One area businessman wants to make sure that Polk County residents have the right alignment in their backs after he opened a new chiropractic office on Main Street in Cedartown.

Andy Kondyles is the man behind Kondyles Chiropractic’s new location in Polk County, which opened Dec. 1, 2013. Kondyles said he chose to locate in Cedartown because they appreciated the area’s historic feel.

“I really love this building, this spot,” he said. “It has a lot of old character and detail. We reflect that in our business by showing off the old chiropractic equipment and by playing oldies music.”

This is Kondyles’ second practice to open in Northwest Georgia. He’s operated a practice in Rome for the past five years. He said that the focus of his business is on family wellness for both young and old.

“A lot of people have a lot of pre-existing problems that they’re just getting treated for symptoms. We’ve been educated our entire life that health is symptom-based. It tells you how you feel, but not how you function. Chiropractic care goes to the root of the problem, and deals with what’s really going on and not how you feel.”

Kondyles said that one of his major focuses has been on treating children and teens, and has worked with schools and colleges in Rockmart and Rome. He said he’s also previously worked with Special Olympics to help special needs athletes on the day of competition.

“We’ve done a lot of work with special needs kids,” he said.

Kondyles Chiropractic is open three days a week in Cedartown on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Weekday hours run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. The office is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Kondyles said that most major insurance providers are accepted in his office.

Kondyles said discounts are available for the first appointment.
