Floyd County police were looking late Tuesday for a man who attacked another at a home in Lindale, then fled in a car toward Pepperell High School.

Police were initially called at about 5:15 p.m. regarding a possible gunshot wound at 15 S. Central Ave.

According to Maj. Jeff Jones, it does not appear a firearm was involved.

“They had an altercation. We don’t think he was shot,” Jones said.

Police were combing the grounds and interviewing neighbors. The man’s name and condition were not available late Tuesday. Jones said his injury “looked like it’s serious,” however, the ambulance headed for the hospital without a siren or flashing lights.
