The Family Care Center in the Piggly Wiggly Shopping Center in Centre includes a Thrift Store open to the public Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Family Care Center helps others by giving clothing, food and possibly hope to families in their time of need. The Center asks for your help by supporting its thrift stores. There are currently three locations, the one in Centre, another at 5511 Main St. in Hokes Bluff and another in Cedar Bluff. The Center is currently helping more than 100 families per week and thanks the community for its continued support. Director is Cindy McGinnis.

In high school baseball action, Cedar Bluff plays at Woodville beginnning at 4 p.m., Coosa Christian plays at Collinsville beginning at 4:30 p.m., Piedmont plays at Pleasant Valley beginning at 4:30 p.m. and Faith Christian plays at Spring Garden beginning at 4:30 p.m. In high school softball action, Skyline at Cedar Bluff beginning at 4:30 p.m., Gaylesville plays at Woodville beginning at 4:30 p.m., Sand Rock plays at Fyffe beginning at 4:30 p.m., Spring Garden plays at White Plains beginning at 4:30 p.m. and Central-Clay County plays at Piedmont beginning at 5 p.m.

The next meeting of the Cherokee County Board of Education is Tuesday, March 21, 2017 and will be held at the Central Office. To get to Rock Village, travel Highway 411 to the four-way stop in Leesburg, turn right, turn left on Cherokee County Road 36, travel to the intersection of County Road 36 and 70 and follow the signs.
