The Family Care Center at 1014 West Main St. includes a Thrift Store open to the public Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Family Care Center helps others by giving clothing, food and possibly hope to families in their time of need. The Center asks for your help by supporting its thrift stores. There are currently two locations, the one in Centre and another at 5511 Main St. in Hokes Bluff. The Center is currently helping more than 100 families per week and thanks the community for its continued support. Director is Cindy McGinnis.
The AHSAA state softball tourament will be played at Lagoon Park in Montgomery. In Class 1A, the Losers Bracket games begin at 9 a.m., noon adn 3 p.m. Winners brackett games are played at 9 a.m., 4 p.m. adn 5:30 p.m. (if necessary).
CELEBRATE RECOVERY, Centre, meets every Friday at 5 p.m. at the Centre First Baptist Church Recreation Outreach Center (ROC) on the Chestnut Bypass. The following support groups are available: Loved Ones of the Chemical Dependent, Divorce and Grief, Domestic and Sexual Abuse, Men’s Issues, Chemical Dependency and Emotional issues.
