The Family Care Center at 1014 West Main St. includes a Thrift Store open to the public Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Family Care Center helps others by giving clothing, food and possibly hope to families in their time of need. The Center asks for your help by supporting its thrift stores. There are currently two locations, the one in Centre and another at 5511 Main St. in Hokes Bluff. The Center is currently helping more than 100 families per week and thanks the community for its continued support. Director is Cindy McGinnis.
Celebrate Recovery, Centre, meets every Friday at 5 p.m. at the CFBC ROC on Chestnut Bypass. The following support groups are available: Loved Ones of the Chemically Dependent, Divorce and Grief, Domestic and Sexual Abuse, Men’s Issues, Chemical Dependency, and Emotional Issues. In high school baseball action, Gaylesville plays at Anniston beginning at 11 a.m., Spring Garden plays at Ohatchee beginning at 1 p.m., Sand Rock plays Charles Henderson at Fort Payne beginning at 4:30 p.m. In high school softball action, Gaylesville plays at the Asbury Invitational Tournament beginning at 3 p.m. and the Piedmont Invitational Tournament will be played at Oxford beginning at 3:30 p.m.
The Hubert Cox Memorial Singing School (Beginner level) will be held March 27-31 begiinning at 6 p.m. each evening in the Baptist Building on County Road 273. Instructor is Becky Walker. The school is free of charge for everyone. For more information please call (256)526-8272.
